A quick introduction to the Soft Sayings Card Kit from Stampin' Up!

Hi friends

Something a little different from me today. I wanted to share a quick video introducing one of the amazing card kits from Stampin' Up!

The Soft Sayings All-Inclusive Card Kit is fantastic value at £31.50, which makes it easy to create a stack of cards with this all-inclusive kit. It comes with everything you need to make 20 cards - 2 each of 10 designs. The kit includes the Soft Sayings Stamp Set, which has 15 photopolymer stamps, a clear stamp block, 20 card bases (in 3 different sizes) plus co-ordinating printed envelopes. There are some lovely die-cut accents, a Stampin' Spot, some Bakers's Twine, washi tape, Stampin' Dimensionals and a gorgeous giftable kraft box.

Just add your choice of adhesive and you are ready to go. There also very clear instructions so you can make the suggested cards or you can use the elements to create your own designs!

You can even buy a refill for £19.00 so you can make another 20 cards using the stamp set and ink from the original kit.  I just love it!

Over the coming week I will show  how quick and simple it is to make the cards from the kit as well as my own.

Just click on the highlighted links if you'd like to look at the products on-line at my Stampin' Up! On-line store.

Quick tip to Straighten Ribbon and 6 One Sheet Wonder cards

Morning folks

I've been giggle to myself because not only did I make my video public by mistake when I uploaded it last night but when I watched it this morning I realised I'd only painted the nails on my left hand !!

So the video is slightly different from my usual card making ones because although I show you some of my recent makes, it starts with a quick tip. You can watch it below - I'd love to know what you think!

I needed to make some thank you cards and thought I'd try a One Sheet Wonder so I could use some of the new DSP. They can be complicated but this is what I came up with. The cards are simple and quick to make.

I made a set of 6 cards using 3 sheets of Whisper White card stock, 1 sheet of 12" x 12" DSP, half a sheet of  matching card stock and Whisper White card stock for embellishments plus some ribbon, basic rhinestones and liquid glue.

The card bases are half a sheet of A4 either landscape or portrait and scored in the middle. I then cut a sheet of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack at 14.3 cm and 28.6 cm and cut those down to 10 cm wide - I've tried to show what I did below on some retired DSP:-

I used a panel of DSP on each card. There are so many different designs you can come up with here is the set I made using the Berry Burst paper, card stock, ink and ribbon.

I also used  Label Me Pretty Clear Mount BundleStitched Shape Framelits and Butterflies Thinlits Dies. As I needed thank you cards, I used a sentiment from the Fabulous Flamingo Photopolymer Stamp Set. The cards are finished off with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Here 's the set made using Lemon Lime Twist paper, card stock, ink and ribbon. The layouts are a little different - there are so many different options!

On these cards I also used Bold Butterfly Framelits and the Decorative Ribbon Punch.

Do you struggle with Sympathy cards?

Happy Saturday!

I'm a little late posting again - sorry about that. This week has been a little hectic with my day job taking priority, which is only right.

Luckily, I also found time to do some crafting .... I try to be creative every day even if it's only cooking dinner! I also managed to learn how to add some social media icon's to my blog (still a few to go) and how to create a wifi hot spot from my mobile phone - I'm quietly chuffed with myself lol!!

Today I wanted to share some simple and elegant sympathy cards made using the versatile Flourish Phrases clear mount stamp set from Stampin' Up! I often struggle to make sympathy cards - I try to keep them clean and simple and with this stamp set that's easy.

All four cards are made with Whisper White and Crumb Cake cardstock (standard A6 card bases, which is half a sheet of A4, either landscape or portrait). I used Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad to stamp the images on each of the cards, either full strength or stamped off once. I, of course, stamped envelopes to match the cards.

I made a quick YouTube video tutorial for the last card.

Supplies used;-

Top folding Crumb Cake A6 card base - 10.5 x 29.7m scored at 14.85cm
Whisper White matting layer - 10 x 14.45cm
Whisper White strip for the sentiment - 3.81 x 9 cm
Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad
Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker
Banner Triple Punch
Blender Pen - they come in a pack of 3 which is great value!
Stamping Sponge
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin Dimensionals

You can watch the video below:-

It really is Fabulous Flamingo!!

Hi folks

I'm sorry my post is a little later than usual - I know I've said it before but I don't know where the time goes!  I've been working on my blog - there's still a way to go as the tabs don't work properly but it's getting there!

Today I wanted to share a clean and simple single layer card using the Fabulous Flamingo photopolymer stamp set from Stampin' Up! (Sorry about the quality of the pics - it is shocking!)

I just love the images and the way you can create a scene really quickly. I did use one of the stamps from the Timeless Textures wood mounted stamp set to create the sandbank but other than that I've only used the one stamp set.

I usually try to limit the colours of ink I use for a card but this one just cries out for lot of colours - it feels tropical, don't you think?

Supplies used; A6 Whisper White card base with a matting layer of Whisper White; Classic Ink pads in Flirty Flamingo, Powder Pink, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake and three of the new In-Colours Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.

To slightly step up the card, I cut down the stamped panel to 7 x 14.85 cm and added a strip of Flirty Flamingo card stock to either side. Before adhering the panel to the card base, I stamped the leaves in Crumb Cake to create a background on a A6 Crumb Cake card base. To finish off I added three sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment pack.

For the final version, the extra elements are using the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake card base, adding some  Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine to the bottom of the card base, When I make the card again, I think I'll pop up the panel onto dimensionals and tie the bakers twine just around the panel. I also added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flamingo to add a bit of sparkle.

Here are all three cards together - I love them all (but then I am biased). Which is your favourite?

I made a quick tutorial for the first card which you can see below. I'm so grateful to everyone that has subscribed to my YouTube channel and hope I can keep growing my audience and sharing my passion for card making.

Daisy Daisy give me your answer do .....

Hello there!

Here's the final card in my gift set of 5 using the lovely Daisy Delight Photopolymer stamp set by Stampin' Up!

I love love love this very clean and simple card!!

Supplies are minimal - A6 Blushing Bride card base, Whisper White mat 14.3 x 10cm, strip of Whisper White 10.4 x 1cm and a scrap of Whisper White for the daisy, Blushing Bride and Daffodil Delight classic ink pads.

I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to help me align the daisy stamp so that it makes a fuller flower - I try to do it without by my eyesight isn't that good so this tool is an essential in my kit. In fact I'm not sure how I copied before I found it!

Here's a link to my video tutorial - I'd love to get your feedback.

Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper!!!

Hello my crafty friends

Today I'm sharing the third card in gift set of 5 made using the Daisy Delight stamp set and Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

The paper pack contains 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5cm). Acid and Lignin free and coordinates with Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pool Party, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White. I can also see a hint of Wisteria Wonder.

Supplies:-
A6 Pool Party card base; Night of Navy layer 14.3 x 10cm; strip of Wisteria Wonder 14.3 x 2.5cm; scraps of Whisper White, Pool Party, the gorgeous Delightful Daisy DSP and Night of Navy Classic Ink pad.

The large daisy image from the Daisy Delight Photopolymer stamp set was stamped randomly on the Night of Navy cardstock in Night of Navy to give a subtle background. The strip of Wisteria Wonder nicely divides this and to finish off three of the Layering Ovals Framelits were used to create the focal point on the card, which is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I always love to decorate an envelope to match the card so here, I covered the flap of the envelope with the DSP.

I hope you enjoy the video tutorial:-

I'd love to hear what you think, so please feel free to leave a comment.

Daisy Delight meets Detailed Dragonfly from Stampin' Up!

Hey folks

I hope you have all had a good week? What is it about the English Summer - after a 5 day heatwave the rain has returned and its been very grey!!

Today's card is the second in a set of five using the Daisy Delight Stamp set . We made a version of this card at our team meeting at the beginning of June and it is CASED from Lisa Curcio, who is a talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator from Florida, USA.

The first card I made used retired Mint Macaron cardstock for the base so this time I used Very Vanilla but I'm not sure there's enough contrast between the background and the white flowers - what do you think?

I decided to add a gorgeous die cut bumble bee to the card using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and stamped one on the envelope using the Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set.

The frame is created by drawing round a piece of backing board from a pack of DSP cut to 13.4cm x 9cm - I tried a Stampin' Write Marker but made a mess of it so ended up using a black biro.

I used 3 daisies punched from Whisper White cardstock using the Daisy Punch, which sadly is currently on backorder as it's been so popular, and layered two slightly offset to create the fuller flower and cut the other into three petal pieces and glued two bits together to create the smaller flower. 2 x 1/4" circles from Basic Black cardstock create the centres of the flowers.

The flower stems are stamped in Old Olive. As the stamp set is photopolymer its really easy to manipulate the stamps to create a curve in the stem.

The bumble bee is die cut from Basic Black. I didn't have any Daffodil Yellow cardstock so I stamped a few circles onto whisper white and cut them out to layer behind the die cut so the yellow shows through. I stamped the bumble bee from the stamp set on the envelope, I just love him!

Anyway, here's the video - enjoy!
