How to create a simple watercolour wash birthday card

Hello again my crafty friends

I hope your week has been a good one and you've found a little time to be creative!

We're enjoying a proper summer for the first time in many years, which is wonderful, sunshine just seems to make everything better! I am so blessed to live in the South of England, nestled between the coast and the Downs National Park as we tend to have the best weather in the UK.
So today, I'm bringing you another card from my July classes incorporating all of the 2018-2020 In-Colors. I decided on a Crumb Cake base cut @ 10.5cm x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm. A piece of Whisper White card cut @ 10cm x 10cm was embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder. Using an aquapainter I added colour to a piece of watercolour paper cut @ 7.5cm x 10cm. Using the Happy Birthday thinlit, I partially die cut Happy from the watercolour piece and again from a piece of white fun foam, trimming off any excess before sticking them together and adding them to the card. Birthday was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder using one of the stamps from Perennial Birthday on Basic Black cardstock and punched with the Classic Label punch. The card isn't listed on the Envelope Punch Board so I had to work out the size of paper needed, thankfully I got there eventually!  7 1/4" x 7 1/4" - score and punch @ 3 5/8".

For the video, which you can watch below, I used one of the new dynamic embossing folders (oh my word, what's not to love about the Tufted embossing folder - there's even a line on the folder to help line up the cardstock) and used the whole die cut. I created a lighter watercolour wash so decided not to use any ribbon and added some Clear Wink of Stella to the sentiment to make it sparkle! After filming the video I added some little flowers using the retired tree builder punch and added some of the Share What you Love Artisan Pearls.
Here's a close up - its hard to see the sparkle in the photo's.
I hope you enjoy the video.
