Hello from Forever Fern

Hello my friends and welcome to my blog

I'm back with my entry for this weeks Global Design Project #GDP250 and it's a fabulous sketch challenge - sadly I'm too late as entries closed earlier - what a numpty!!!

Oh well, I'm still going to share my card and would love to know what you think of it if you have time so please leave a comment below or over on Instagram.
To make the card, I used Seaside Spray card cut @ 15.8cm x 21cm and scored @ 10.5cm. I added a layer of Very Vanilla cut @ 9.5cm x 13.8cm to the front, embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder. The next layer is vellum cut @ 10cm x 14.4cm. I stamped one of the stamps from the Forever Fern stamp set multiple times using Misty Moonlight ink before adding clear embossing powder and heat setting it. I do love heat embossing - it's like magic. I trimmed the vellum to 8.5cm x 13cm, keeping the long strip for the inside. Adding vellum to a project can be a little tricky but I use mini glue dots behind embossed areas so you can't see the glue. Taking a small piece of Seaside Spray I stamped the word Hello in versamark and then in Misty Moonlight, add clear embossing powder and just like that you've got coloured embossing. I find with cardstock you need to use versamark as the card is more pourous. I used one of the Forever Flourishing dies to die cut 3 identical very vanilla flourishs and added them to create a circle. I trimmed the sentiment down with snips to create a banner and added them with mini dimensionals. 3 clear epoxy droplets add the finishing touch.
For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight and added the strip of velum to another piece of very vanilla cut @ 10.2cm x 14.5cm.
I'm giggle to myself for missing the deadline to join the challenge but hopefully lesson learned to be more organised!! I've had a busy week and do have a lot on my mind at the moment.  I even made a video that you can see now I've had time to edit it.
You can purchase any of the items I used from my Stampin' Up! on-line store by clicking on the photo's below. Forever Fern stamp set and Forever Flourishing dies come as a bundle at the moment so you save 10% and remember for every £45 you spend before 3 August (catalogue price before shipping and handling), you earn a £4.50 Bonus Days coupon code to use between 4–31 August. Another birthday card featuring So Much Happy bundle from Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog,

As promised in my post last week, I'm back to share the other birthday card I made with the So Much Happy bundle.  It took me longer than anticipated to find time to edit the video which you will find later in this blog post. It's exactly the same layout as the last card but this time I used balmy blue, blushing bride, and misty moonlight .... same, same but different, as they say in Thailand!!
The balmy blue base is cut @ 19.8cm x 21cm and scored @ 9.9cm. There are two whisper white layers cut @ 9.5cm x 19.6cm, plus a piece of white for stamping the 3 balloons; one each in balmy blue, blushing bride and misty moonlight; and die cut 3 strings and a bow. A small piece of blushing bride for the bunting and a piece of misty moonlight cut @ 4.5cm x 14.5cm plus a scrap for the sentiment.
I die cut the word Happy across the middle, at an angle, on one white piece. I used the cloud stencil, I made with one of the dies from the set, to add blushing bride ink with a blender brush to create a pink cloud background in the top section (you can actually see this one - I was a bit light handed with the last card!).  I mixed one drop of blushing bride reinker with some embossing paste on a silicon craft sheet and spread it with a palette knife over the polka dot basic pattern decorative mask to make a textured background to the bottom section. I layered misty moonlight behind Happy and trimmed off the excess. The word birthday was heat embossed in white on a small piece of the misty moonlight and made into a banner. I added the bunting, balloons, string, bow and sentiment with glue and dimensionals.  Here are the two cards side by side:

I hope you like my card and would love you to leave me a comment either here or on my YouTube channel. If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used from me simply click on the photo below to go to my on-line store.

As always, thanks for popping by and remember keep it crafty.

Global Design Project #249 Color Challenge

Hiya, welcome to my blog

Today's card is inspired by the Global Design Project color challenge - this combo is really pretty (I love Misty Moonlight, one of the new in-colors) but it's a little outside my comfort zone.
The petal pink card base is larger than my usual (another challenge) measuring 19.8 cm x 21 cm, scored @ 9.9 cm. I used the So Much Happy bundle which has some fun stamps and dies that cut the word happy, balloons, banners, and lots more.
The white layer measures 9.5 cm x 20.6 cm.  I die cut the word happy at an angle and glued a piece of misty moonlight behind (4 cm wide). It really makes the word pop! I made a cloud stencil using one of the other dies in the bundle to create a very faint cloud background on the top half with a blending brush and pool party ink.
I die cut a banner from pool party card and glued it just above the word happy. To the bottom section I added texture with embossing paste coloured with pool party ink using one of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks.
On a scrap piece of white I stamped and die cut 3 balloons, strings and a bow and added them with glue and dimensionals. I heat embossed birthday in white on a scrap of misty moonlight, trimmed into a banner and added with dimensionals. The inside is simply stamped with 3 balloons.
I made another card with a slightly different colour combo. As I don't have petal pink reinker I used blushing bride instead for the pink. I will share that card later as I'm still editing the video that I made.

I hope you like my card and have listed below all the products used.

As always, thanks for popping by and remember keep it crafty.
