Gilding Flakes - CASE the designer #GDP276

Hello and welcome to my blog

It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Global Design Project challenge, which this week is CASE the designer: Connie Collins, a talented GDP team member from the United States.

Here's the fabulous project we are CASEing:
I've been having lots of fun this week with the Fine Art Floral suite and have fallen in love with the Gilded Leafing. I can't believe I've never used this type of product before - it is amazing but man it's messy! I wanted to find a way of using the leafing on my project - so here's my card:-
I used a similar layout but my card is landscape instead of portrait. The background is a piece of Crumb Cake cut @ 10 cm x 14.3 cm and embossed with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. To create the background I started by dragging a Versamark ink pad across the embossed card, sprinkled Heat & Stick Powder over it and used my heat tool to melt the powder to make it sticky. Next add the Gilded Leafing and rub off the excess with a sponge or brush.  It is soooo pretty - don't you love it!
For the focal point I added some flowers from a sheet of the True Love Designer Series Paper. This black and white paper pack is gorgeous and the floral images perfect for colouring, I used Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends and then fussy cut with my paper snips. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Art Gallery stamp set in Versamark on a scrap of white and gold heat embossed and finally used one of the Floral Gallery dies to cut th label.
I'm really happy with the way my card turned out and hope you like it too. I made a quick video to show you how I made the background and put the card together.
If you live in the UK and don't already have a demonstrator, I would be happy to send you a catalogue and you’re interested in buying any of the products used just click on the photos below to go to my Stampin’ Up On-line store. Remember to use the current Host code which you can find at the top of my blog if your order is between £25 and £150 to get a handmade card and FREE gift from me.

As always, thanks for stopping by and remember keep it crafty.
